OGEJS Conducts Seminar at NAIIA Convention
Burt Satcher, Mark Meliski, Ana Florez, and Jonathan Lippert led discussions and presented papers on issues regarding pitfalls in litigation including Spoliation of Evidence, Bad Faith Settlement of Claims and the Federal Medicare Secondary Payer Act at the annual convention of the National Association of Independent Insurance Adjusters, Southeast Region, recently held on February 11.
The seminar was conducted in cooperation with our fellow EAGLE International Association member, Peter Miller, of Peter A. Miller & Associates in Florida, as well as independent adjuster Peter J. Crosa, with offices in Georgia and Florida. Chase W. Deits, CPCU, ARM, AIC, also presented an interesting discussion regarding the Medicare and SCHIP Act, providing his perspective on this hot topic legislation in his position as Assistant Vice President of National Accounts Casualty Claims with Arch Insurance Group. Deits has twenty-five years of experience in the claims industry and previously was claims manager with the Atlanta office of ESIS, Inc., a third-party administrator.
Approximately 125 independent and in-house claims adjusters from throughout the southeastern United States attended the seminar. A reception sponsored by EAGLE followed the seminar presentations. Papers presented at the seminar may be reviewed at the following links.
